Rental Terms

July and August

For the summer season of July and August, the rent is $1400 per week. Periods of one or two weeks may be rented, but not less and seldom more.

The cottage is available for rent from approximately the beginning of July to the end of August. Rental weeks run from Saturday to Saturday. Arrive not earlier than noon, depart not later than 10am. A cleaning person needs the house empty between 10am and noon.

A $200 deposit is necessary when you book the cottage, with the balance due just before you take occupancy.

There is no other charge beyond the basic rent, but you are expected to replenish whatever you use up, such as kitchen staples and paper goods.

Bed linens are provided, but you may bring your own. There are two single beds and three double beds. If you use our linens, please wash and return them to their drawers.

Off-Season

Rentals in June, September, and (bring your long-johns) October can sometimes be accommodated. These rentals need not run from Saturday to Saturday, nor run for a full seven days, as July and August rentals do. The following off-season rates apply:

Monday through Thursday nights: $125 per night
Friday through Sunday nights: $175 per night

There is a two-night minimum.

CLIMATE NOTE: June and September are in some ways the best weeks on Cape Cod, with mild temperatures and no summer crowds. But the cottage is not insulated, and October can bring cold mornings. You would perhaps want to play Scrabble in the evening, with the low-scorer assigned to get up at dawn and kindle a fire in the wood stove. On sunny October days, with or without a fire, the house warms up quickly and stays comfortable until well after sunset. Later than that, a cozy fire during supper is sometimes necessary.
